Who Am I:
Hi, I'm Jacob and I have the simple goal of helping birders connect with their top Namibian species! As one of Namibia's most active local birders, I know where to find the region’s sought-after specialties and overlooked gems. Get a sense of my birding story as told through ten birds.
What I Offer:
I offer guided day tours and shorter walks in the Windhoek area. These are ideal for birders doing self-drive safaris in Namibia who want to boost their species list at the beginning or end of their trip.
I also offer birder-specific trip planning to give visiting birders the most up-to-date information about where to find their target species.
Finally, I offer professional development training for safari guides at local lodges to improve their birding knowledge.
Birding WHK
Windhoek is more than a stopover on your way to somewhere else. Our city in the valley is home to numerous near endemics and Kalahari specials The wide open spaces of scrub bushveld also make for a satisfying birding experience (you can actually see the bird!). The relatively scarce water draws in ducks, waders and seedeaters. The big blue skies are home to abundant raptors.
Rockrunner & Co.'s birding day tours are perfectly suited for visitors who have decided to embark a self-drive holiday. Our birders can rack up an initial tally of +-100 species in Windhoek before your journey really begins or connect with a surprisingly elusive nemesis before heading home.
